Vasiliki’s settlement is from the oldest ones with urban structure. It’s dated from the Early Minoan II period(2600-2300 BC). It’s on the slopes and the top of the low heel inside the fertile plain of Isthmus of Ierapetra where it owes its rise. The settlement’s central building, named “Ikia tou Lofou” is big edifice, precursor for later Minoan palaces.
The hill’s residential would be continued the next periods. Especially in the Middle Minoan period (2100-1700 BC). “Ikia A” belongs to this period. It’s a remarkable edifice with great construction with internal brick walls located in a two road junction that crossed the settlement. Building parts of the Late Minoan period have also been recognized (1600-1450 BC).
